Powering communication networks

Powering communication networks

BAI Communications introduced solar power across four broadcast transmission sites in Australia, following the success of its 2015 Muswellbrook pilot. Serving 99% of the population, BAI’s 752-site network requires reliable power, and solar installations now generate 660kW while cutting emissions by 698 tonnes annually, equivalent to 2.7 million km of car travel or charging 89 million smartphones. Using advanced battery storage and embedded supply systems, the initiative enhances sustainability, reduces costs, and improves resilience. These projects reflect BAI’s long-term commitment to renewable energy and operational efficiency in critical communications.
