Power Station - Ceramic Plates Customer: Power Station Location: South America Equipment supplied 80 x Porous ceramic plates for coal ash fluidised bed Enquiry Castle Pumps were contacted by an existing power station customer of theirs who required replacement porous ceramic plates for a fluidised bed that was operating inefficiently as a consequence of its age. The fluidised bed was contained within a silo with a capacity of 540M3 which was designed to keep the fly ash slurry fluid. The ceramic blocks needed to be resistant to a temperature of 800°C, have the same porosity, and be manufactured to the exact same size of the existing ceramic plates to enable easy replacement during the tight maintenance window.
