Portland College Portland College, one of the UK’s leading education centres for adults with disabilities, has reduced its energy bills by 15 per cent and cut its carbon footprint thanks to a new 186 kWp rooftop solar array installed by EvoEnergy. The 772-panel system, ?tted across six rooftops at the college near Mans?eld, took a team of eight more than two months to complete, with the big switch on happening towards the end of 2014. Now up-and-running, it will generate an estimated 143,174 kWh of clean energy each year – equivalent to a 75,000kg saving in CO2 emission – for the 250-plus students who use the college for education, training, business support and accommodation.
