In addition to the dredging of approximately 24 million m 3 of rock and 29 million m 3 of reclamation material, the project required the design and construction of an astonishing 21 km of rubble mound breakwaters and 42 km of rock protection works, involving 40 million tons of rock and 250 thousand concrete elements.
