Due to there already being a complex system of sub-level basement structures in place beneath the main building, Catfoss would need to take into account careful consideration of the foundations. In addition, the design would need to integrate with existing buildings on three sides of the new structure and at multiple levels. What Was The Solution? Catfoss created a design that incorporated a new centralised canopy feature and a dedicated first floor patient transfer linkway between the main hospital and the Philip Arnold Unit; thereby improving patient dignity compared with the previous requirement
