PROJECT PROFILE Pedestrian Bridges at Michael Zone Recreation Center Park Challenge In 2012, the Michael Zone Recreation Center Park near downtown Cleveland, OH, was revitalized with new baseball fields, tennis courts, a playground, a splash park and a dog park. With the new recreational areas, the city wanted to protect the surrounding wetland environment. McKnight Associates led the design effort for pedestrian walkways to cross over several man-made swales in three low-lying areas. The green space was expected to get a lot of wear and tear, so a durable walkway product was necessary.
