Opened in 1982 to a mainly open-air design it consists of 40 shop units anchored by Marks & Spencer, Boots and Waitrose. The centre comprises a 215,000 sq ft gross retail lettable area and a multi-storey car park with 550 spaces. The centre trades seven days a week including bank holidays. The roof of the shopping centre was showing its age and was in need of a complete refurbishment.
