Oldknow Academy
rf010011 Oldknow Academy converted to an academy from Oldnow Junior School on 1 April 2012, achieving an OFSTED rating of ‘Outstanding’ at the end of its first year in January 2013. Located in Small Heath, a predominantly ethnic area of Birmingham, about 99% of the pupils are from minority groups, with the majority of these traditionally followers of Islam. The Academy boasts a young and enthusiastic staff, which is reflected in the décor throughout the school, which is notably colourful and vibrant, with barely any stairwells and corridors escaping from appealing imagery painted on the walls.
