Case Study – Oil Pipe Manufacturer Industry: Oil Extraction Problem: Slotted sleeve pipe is manufactured with small slots in it to allow for steam and oil seepage. These small slots must not become clogged or else the pipe is use- less. Because these pipes can’t be painted they are left as bare steel and corrosion causes the small slots to become clogged. Effect: When the slots become clogged the pipe is rendered useless and must be removed.
