NOS Bridges Rehabilitation, London, Thames Water, 2015 –Clancy Docwra Description: NOS Bridges Rehabilitation Project – maintenance program on 9 key bridges supporting 3km of sewer Challenges: Original infrastructure was built in 1853. Mix of road, rail and river bridges. Working under the bridges required flat-bottom barges and safety boats in attendance.Key achievements and innovations: 2.7m diameter iron barrels needed to be constantly monitored with internal flow meters and external strain gauges. In some sections we exposed the deck of these wrought iron barrels for the first time in 150 years.
