Navy Medical Center Fire House
Navy Medical Center Fire House Bethesda, MD The Challenge Naval Support Activity Bethesda is located just north of the Na- tion’s Capital and is responsible for base operational support for its major tenant the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. The fire station on campus needed to be rebuilt while remaining operational. A parcel of land at the corner of the engine garage was used to construct the temporary building. White steel siding was selected to match the surrounding stone buildings. A covered vestibule was constructed connect- ing the garage to the modular. One enclosed and one open pre-fabricated aluminum stair tower was constructed with careful design planning bridging underground utility lines that ran through the site.
