Modernizing fare collection in Ile-de-France

Pages 2 Pages

Ile-de-France launched a large-scale fare collection modernization program to integrate 65 transit operators and provide passengers with more flexible options such as contactless cards and mobile payments. Managed by Comutitres, which oversees subscriptions like Navigo, the initiative is supported by Conduent Transportation and Flowbird. The program includes installing 50,000 validators, 8,000 desks, and 6,000 printers across buses and trams, creating one of the world’s largest ITxPT-compliant ticketing systems. The shared platform will reduce costs, enable interoperability, and support digital-first services like smartphone validation and dematerialized ticketing.
