Ministry of Defence Main Building An Updated Office in a Historic Structure Designed by Vincent Harris in 1915 and constructed after WWII, this neo-classical, Grade I-listed building retains a number of historic spaces, including a 16th-century vaulted undercroft and several 18th-century rooms. HOK's renovation design creates a contemporary, efficient work space for more than 3,300 government staff members while retaining and restoring the building's unique original features. The open-plan environment supports interaction, communication and collaboration in less hierarchical workspaces, transforming the work processes of the Ministry of Defence.
