CarbonWrap ® MINIMIZING PIPE REPAIR DOWNTIME IN OFFSHORE PLATFORMS Problem There were numerous steel pipes in an offshore oil platform off the coast of Santa Barbara, California, that were badly corroded due to the salt spray from the ocean water. The platform belonged to Venoco Oil Company. For this project, it was critical to minimize the downtime for the operation of the platform. Many pipes were wrapped and strengthened on the platform at a fraction of the time and cost of pipe replacement.
