Milwaukee Zoo Interchange Client Wisconsin Department of Transportation Project Overview HNTB helped WisDOT tame the state's busiest interchange, while achieving an important environmental objective. Strategy The Zoo interchange is the busiest in the state and WisDOT's largest, most challenging infrastructure project to-date. HNTB served as the lead designer and provided construction inspection, traffic management planning and public information services as part of a joint venture for the $1.7 billion Zoo interchange program. The complex urban system includes four miles of local roadways and nine miles of freeway, including seven service interchanges.
