MECHANICAL & ELECTRICAL FIT OUT LONDON Due to increasing demand for school places in the London Borough of Brent, JCA was appointed by one of the primary schools in the area to carry out mechanical and electrical works to the new extension and refurbishment of the existing areas as part of a £7m expansion and refurbishment programme. As the school was required to achieve an ‘Excellent’ BREEAM rating, renewable technologies were stipulated from the outset. These included the use of air sourced heat pumps for the heating system, sedum roofs, photovoltaic cells to feed electricity into the grid, as well as sun and wind catchers to provide natural light and ventilation.
