Maximising public access for new National Forest cycle route As lead designers for an 8.3km cycle route in the National Forest, our transport consultants, engineering consultants and project managers overcame construction and environmental challenges to bring the project in on time and under budget. The primary aim of this project was to maximise public accessibility, particularly for those with lessened mobility or no easy access to a car. We were retained to provide construction and project management services including supervising construction of the route. Our design took into account difficult construction access, in order to avoid environmental impact, disturbances to existing vegetation, and local drainage characteristics to provide a surfaced path that blended in with the woodland
