Maui County, HI – Leading and Modeling Integrated Solid Waste Planning Role: Led the project team tasked with the solid waste planning activities to achieve 60% recycling diversion (state goal is 50%). Provided analysis and recommendations for single stream curbside recycling and weekly trash collection; collection of bulky and household hazardous waste; C&D recycling; materials recovery facilities for recyclables and C&D; landfill gas collection for electricity generation; consolidated operation centers; new technologies to convert waste to electricity; and public education.
