VMWARE CASE STUDY KEY CHALLENGES  Mansfi eld District Council needed to change its PCs and laptops from Windows XP to Windows 7 quickly and e ciently  It also needed to reduce the cost of IT and its associated carbon footprint and increase the productivity and e ciency of its employees. RESULTS  The Council is implementing a virtual desktop infrastructure with VMware Horizon View which is enabling it to migrate its devices from Windows XP to Windows 7, while increasing the security and fl exibility of its IT systems  Sta will be able to access the Council’s systems from any thin client within its o ces, which greatly increases productivity  The Council has forecasted a fi nancial saving of over £121,000 over the next ten years.
