The site is located in a rural setting on the outskirts of Grimsby close to the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The site was in agricultural use, two public rights of way cross the boundary of the site and a Local Nature Reserve bounds the northern aspect.
