System Objective LIRR selected Dematic to upgrade its aging system and dramatically improve operational ease, long-term reliability, and support. Specifically, LIRR looked to accomplish the following: • Maintain AMHS as a fully integrated operation • Improve overall system reliability • Extend AMHS service life for a 10 year minimum • Improve system maintainability and commonality of parts System Synopsis Dematic replaced and upgraded all major subsystems. Proper equipment, controls, host computer and software were vital to maintaining required performance levels.
