CGL was appointed by Westlakes Environmental to assess the ground conditions at the site in advance of its redevelopment for student accommodation and retail use. Previously, the majority of the site was occupied by a four storey building with an existing basement below the structure's footprint. Although the historic façade was retained, the majority of the building was being stripped and demolished during the ground investigation works
