Innovative Engineers Case study // LNW Lindal tunnel vegetation clearance works CLIENT CONTRACT VALUE DATE COMPLETE Network Rail £35k September 2016 THE CHALLENGE Leaf fall on the line near Lindal tunnel was increasingly causing problems for the train operating companies (TOCs) WHAT WE DID Network Rail contracted us to carry out extensive vegetation management works, which included the removal of all vegetation from the cutting on the tunnel approach and from around the tunnel portal. We also worked with bat specialists to find the best solution to work round the presence of bat roosts on site. They supervised all works in the affected areas.
