Lime Kiln Repair Toledo, OR There were two basic parts to the scope of this project for Georgia- Paci c, both implemented during the April 2013 outage at Toledo. The rst part was addition of sti ener rings circumferential segments on both sides of the No. 1 pier tire with two rows of rings on either side of the tire. The second part involved replacing the existing worn tire retaining rings with new rings and stops. The Challenge: Georgia-Paci c (GP) Toledo’s No. 3 Kiln was experiencing signi cant shell ovality at the No. 1 pier tire. This ovality caused the shell and refractory lining to ex as the shell rotates. Flexing of the refractory was causing refractory failures.
