Clifford Devlin were commissioned by the LDA to provide the enabling works for a future mixed-use redevelopment providing new homes, retail and leisure facilities which will link Lewisham National Rail and DLR stations with the town centre. The works involved the demolition of three vacant buildings down to ground level, the removal of ground slabs, foundations and hardstandings. Following the removal of asbestos, the structures were soft stripped and structural demolition carried out using 360 degree excavators fitted with various processing attachments in a stepped formation leaving the structures self supported throughout. We created several landscape features including grassed mounds, trees/bushes and pedestrian walkways to provide temporary aesthetics for the duration of the programme
