The three-span bridge features a 745-foot main span. At 185 feet, it is the world’s widest cable-stayed bridge and the first asymmetrical cable-stayed bridge in the United States as two northbound lanes are cantilevered outside the east cable plane. The bridge also is the first major hybrid cable-stayed bridge in the United States, using steel in the main span and concrete in the back span.
