PROBLEM Previously the company was not monitoring the majority of their 25+ fridges and freezers. They had four temp alert monitors, which are wireless sensors. These sensors were unreliable as they only monitored down to -20°C, and would regularly drop their signal. The lab did not have a system for regularly monitoring and recording the tempera- ture of their equipment. Instead they would just check the reading on the outside of their fridges and freezers.
