A leading German public broadcaster modernized its aging outside broadcast van with Black Box’s Emerald KVM over IP solution to address challenges of space, weight, and functionality. Replacing an analog matrix, the installation included Emerald SE receivers, Zero U transmitters, a central power hub, and Boxilla for centralized management. The Emerald Remote App enabled secure remote access to physical and virtual servers without extra hardware. The IP-based system reduced equipment, freeing space and cutting weight, while delivering flexible, reliable video, audio, and USB switching. Scalable to 4K, it ensures agility for current HD production and future upgrades.
