This was inefficient and hard work! They applied for, and were awarded with, money from the National Lottery to install a zero energy water pump. The lottery award enabled them to install a Papa Pump which works without the use of any fuel or electricity, just the natural energy of flowing water. The water from the spring was pumped up to two storage tanks at the top of the allotments from where the members could fill
