Over 700 of the base stations within the new VIVA mobile network, operated by STC (Saudi Telecom), are protected by Kentec control panels, supplied and supported by local distributor ACC (Arabian Construction Company). In addition to Kentec’s Sigma XT+ extinguishant control panels, the re detection system in each base station comprises an FM 200 extinguishant gas release system with Hochiki detectors, sounders and auxiliary devices, cross-zoned and cross-referenced between detectors in the protected areas. In the event of a re, gas release and cylinder status is automatically signalled to the Operational Control Centre (OMC). Whilst these remote unmanned sites are air-conditioned and powered by generators with battery backup, extreme temperatures make these locations testing environments
