K&S Freighters
K&S FREIGHTERS A K&S Freighter employee was injured when a forklift was transferring timber and dislodged a packet of timber which fell onto the driver who was standing nearby. The driver was seriously injured, including fractured legs, fractured pelvis and broken right hip. The forklift operator involved didn’t hold a forklift license. K&S Freighters were ordered to respond to the incident, to address the Control, OHS, Compliance and Educational issues. A key component of their response to the incident was to develop industry best practice Loading & Unloading Exclusion Zone (LUEZ) guidelines.
