Jailers Ankle Strap RTP Company End-Use Case Study Guardian Technologies of Cincinnati, Ohio, produces a home arrest unit that saves taxpayers county jail costs by keeping an electronic eye on nonviolent offenders serving their sentences in home confinement. Used only for people convicted of nonfelon charges such as child support arrears and drunk driving offenses, the device is an ankle strap made from a specially formulated RTP Company conductive polyester elastomer. The strap contains a radio frequency system which, through a telephone receiving unit, transmits a constant signal to the jailer.
