The 100-mile long road will help alleviate through tra?c in Memphis, provide an alternative route to Tunica, MS, and create economic development opportunities along the new route. Approved in 2007 by the Federal Highway Administration, the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) and Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) worked together to ensure the project’s success.SSR was hired by TDOT to provide transportation design services for a 2.3 mile section that extended the existing SR-385 into Mississippi.
