IN-PERSON VS. REMOTE CLINICAL TRIAL ACTIVITIES: THE EVOLVING LANDSCAPE AND PATIENT PREFERENCES
Technology Experience: There was a very high usage of smartphones in both age groups, with 97% of participants aged 18-64 and 86% of participants aged 65+ using a smartphone multiple times a day, and only 1% of participants aged 18-64 and 3% of participants aged 65+ not using one (Figure 1A). Usage of tablets and desktops/laptops varied more widely, but were relatively similar between age groups (Figure 1B, 1C). In fact, participants aged 65+ showed slightly higher frequent usage, with 39% using tablets multiple times a day compared to 23% of 18-64 year olds, and almost half (47%) using a desktop/laptop multiple times a day compared to 39% of 18-64 year olds.
