In fact, 8 out of 10 countries that employ a maximum of its working population in agriculture are in Africa. Africa also contains a fourth of the global landscape suitable for crop cultivation which is more than sufficient to drive the continent’s economic development and adequately feed its own population. With a wide range of crops and value chains, Sub-Saharan Africa has already demonstrated a competitive advantage in select cash crops such as cashew, coffee, processed horticulture, tea in east Africa and cocoa in West Africa. For some of these crops like cocoa, Africa has
