Case study Project brief: On behalf of HYDRO GAS and CHEMICALS Ltd., ALS were selected to transport 2 x 200 ton CO2 storage vessels from Willebroek, Belgium to Teesside Offshore Base, Middlesborough. The equipment was required for installation and commissioning at the UK’s most advanced CO2 storage and supply facility. Hydro Due to the ultra heavy weight of the 200 tonne units, combined with a length of 40 metres (equivalent to 3 standard trailers), 5.64 metres diameter and a height of 6.50 metres, the challenge was to provide a safe and cost effective method of moving these storage vessels from the heart of Belgium to the UK.
