Baystate Health, a healthcare system in Massachusetts, partnered with Workhuman® to create a peer-to-peer recognition program called Baystate Celebrates! to enhance employee engagement and retention. The program includes a public newsfeed for recognition moments and Service Milestones® to celebrate anniversaries. CEO Mark A. Keroack, MD, supports the program and actively participates. The initiative has significantly improved employee satisfaction, with Baystate Health scoring in the 99th percentile in the region for recognition. Nurses receiving three or more recognition awards had seven times lower turnover. The program has fostered connections across locations and boosted the organization's culture.
