Honeywell’s Lugoj manufacturing plant in Romania implemented a microgrid solution to boost power reliability, cut emissions, and reduce costs. Frequent blackouts and aging infrastructure had disrupted operations. The new system integrates 1.7 MW of solar PV, a 1.6 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), diesel generators, and Honeywell’s Power Manager with SCADA. Managed via Honeywell Forge Sustainability⁺, the platform optimizes energy use and integrates third-party systems. The outcome: 30% lower utility costs, 10% energy savings, full blackout protection, and significant carbon footprint reduction.
