Highways England Bryden Wood are currently developing data visualisation workflows that will allow Highways England to bring together a range of data sources to inform strategic planning and decision making. These visualisation techniques work at a variety of scales, so certain techniques allow whole network analysis, while others allow the optimisation of placement of individual gantries or other features. Once the strategic decisions are made and a design solutions is required for specific sections of the network, a library of data rich ‘drag and drop’ components are used in collaborative modelling sessions, bringing together design, construction and operations stakeholders to rapidly model and test proposed solutions.
