Highlighting the way for the Northern Ireland Roads Service
Problem Identified Northern Ireland Roads Service is responsible for maintaining the roads in Northern Ireland. The T raffic Management T eam at the Northern Divisional Headquarters based at County Hall in Ballymena wanted to address the problem of motorists avoiding traffic calming ramps by driving in the centre of the road over traffic islands. This created areas of high accident risk, and also caused concern among local residents.
