Case Study St Catherines’ Church, Wigan Had to be Caspians for St Catherine’s. The Client St Catherine’s Church of England, Wigan, built in 1841 in the Gothic style. The Challenge The church had an old ring main and decrepit radiators; the church was never warm enough because it took too long for the church to heat up for a service and was costly to run. The PCC wanted to ensure that the new heating system would be better value and ensure that the building, which is over 100 years old, was warm and comfortable, whatever the weather outside. The Solution The PCC visited Christ the Servant, Skelmersdale to view Smith’s Caspian heaters installed there and were impressed by the speed the building heated up and the low noise of the Caspians.
