The project’s challenges included adverse subsurface soil conditions, which would typically require costly deep building foundations and related structural systems. Our approach: Haley & Aldrich identified a first-of-its-kind approach to enable use of cost- efficient footing foundations and soil-supported ground floors above soft organic soils and clay, eliminating the need for deep pilings and structural floor slabs.
