Overview of client In January 2013, Glasgow City Council was awarded £25m funding from the Future Cities programme, beating off competition from over 20 other councils. The aim of the programme is to show how technology can be used to make life smarter, safer and more sustainable. The new control centre forms part of the overall programme, which was officially opened by councillor Gordon Matheson, leader of Glasgow City Council, in February 2014. Scope of the project Thinking Space worked with architects from IBI Group to design and install control room furniture to accommodate 24 operator positions in the new CCTV control centre.
