Getting a handle on new technology. - Logic PD MEDTRONIC // Placer Steerable Stylet Medtronic had developed their steerable stylet technology. Our challenge was to design the optimum handle for the product. Our design team studied procedures in the catheter lab, and turned their real world observations into tangible design requirements. We created 3D foam sketch models for ergonomic evaluation by cardiologists, then refined and engineered the design for production. The result achieved all the company’s goals for technical function, ergonomics, and easy manufacturing and assembly.
