Jointless Surfacing CASE STUDY - GATWICK AIRPORT Project Background BAA plc, selected Densiphalt as the refurbishment solution for Gatwick Airport’s busy Stand 50 at its North Terminal. Approximately 1000m2 of Densiphalt was installed. Densiphalt has been successfully used for over a decade at Copenhagen Airport as a jointless, fuel resistant surface material, ideally suited for aircraft hardstandings such as Stand 50. CIP proposed the replacement of concrete blocks, bedding sand and contaminated regulating layer with 50mm Densiphalt surface course on an interlayer of High Modulus Binder Course.
