This case study outlines how DATEV modernized its analytics systems by migrating from SAS/MXG to Altair SLC. DATEV’s legacy environment was costly, difficult to maintain, and fragmented across platforms and teams. After conducting a detailed source code analysis, DATEV transitioned all SAS/MXG workloads—including complex chargeback processes—to Altair SLC. The solution was deployed as a Docker container within IBM z/OS Container Extensions, enabling modern DevOps practices. The migration eliminated technical debt, unified ownership under a single team, improved development agility, and allowed faster updates, resulting in a stable, scalable, and future-ready analytics infrastructure.
