Because redundant, high-pressure blowout preventers (BOPs) were required in this region, operating rigs with taller rig floor heights were needed, which fatigued rig personnel after repeatedly walking from the pipe deck to the rig floor when running pipe. The taller rig floors also resulted in poor pipe presentation to the well center and increased tailing efforts.
