Flood protection at the Niederhafen, Lot 2 City Hamburg Country Germany Implementation 09/2015 - 12/2017 Client Freie und Hansestadt Hamburg As part of Hamburg’s flood protection program, the Niederhafen Lot 2 (Am Johannisbollwerk) flood barrier is also being refurbished over a length of some 310 meters. HOCHTIEF is building the barrier so that it joins up with Lot 1. Similarly to its predecessor, Lot 2 will also integrate a parking garage into the new structure. The elegant promenade, designed by the architect Zaha Hadid, will in future stand on top of the new flood barrier, at a protected altitude of 8.4 meters.
