Ashton Gate Stadium In the Spring/Summer of 2016, EvoEnergy’s expertise was called upon to install a 117 kWp solar PV array on the roof of Ashton Gate Stadium; the home of both Bristol City FC and Bristol Rugby Club. The PV installation was part of a joint initiative between Bristol City Council (BCC) and the stadium owner – Bristol Sport – and would coincide with the planned £45m redevelopment of the stadium’s West Stand immediately after the 2015/16 playing season. The development saw the stadium upgraded to a state-of-the-art 27,000 capacity stadium, with the solar PV installation predicted to reduce the facilities carbon emissions by 20% whilst also reducing its energy costs by £150,000 over 20 years.
