Duguid Adam M & Son Potato Store
Dairy farmer, Adam Duguid, whose family have been in farming for almost 60 years, required an extension to an existing potato box store. To fully protect potatoes, it is imperative that they are stored inside and in complete darkness, as this stops the potatoes from becoming bitter and sprouting. Air flow is also very important to keep the crops chilled and preserved. Duguid Adam M & Son appointed Robinson to build the new crop store. Working closely with Adam Duguid’s chosen refrigeration contractor, Robinson ensure dthe building envelope and refrigeration systems were fully harmonised, allowing the system to blow cold air into the store with adequate passage around the potato plants, to keep the whole crop chilled.
